iPhone 14 Family PTA Guide Pakistan: Used-Phone Maintenance
An older premium phone can still be a poor purchase if the display, battery or account handover is unresolved. This iPhone 14 family guide focuses on maintenance-aware selection: the distinction between a useful feature and a condition problem you would inherit. It does not assume every older device is cheaper or better value.

Apple provides the underlying specifications for 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. These factory options do not establish the condition of a particular used phone.
Read battery information as evidence, not a sales grade
Ask to see available battery-health information and any service messages on the actual device. Apple explains that rechargeable batteries age chemically; care, use and charging history matter alongside calendar age. A displayed percentage alone cannot promise how long this phone will last in your routine.
With permission, try ordinary tasks unplugged and note the starting charge, elapsed time and workload. This is a limited screening exercise, not a full battery test. If the device shuts down unexpectedly or displays a service message, resolve the issue and obtain a relevant service quote before deciding. Do not invent a repair allowance from an unrelated model.
Pause if the casing is lifting or there are signs of battery swelling. Avoid opening the phone yourself during a purchase inspection. A seller’s statement that it “only needs a battery” does not diagnose every possible fault.
Inspect the screen before paying for display features
The Pro models’ display features may be part of your reason to choose them. Check readable text, touch response, ordinary scrolling and a few neutral images at comfortable brightness. Record visible damage, patches or inconsistent response; do not use a water or pressure test to evaluate a used screen.
Review available Parts and Service History and ask about prior work. History coverage is limited by model and software. A missing entry is not a blanket certificate of originality, while a disclosed repair needs context about the part, current function and seller’s terms.
Plan Lightning accessories and the actual regional SIM
The 14 family uses Lightning, so include suitable existing or separately purchased charging equipment in your comparison. Test the port with a compatible cable and inspect for obvious damage without probing it. A case and cable shown in a photograph may not be included in the sale.
US-market 14 variants use eSIM without a physical tray. Apple’s UK 14 specification describes nano-SIM plus eSIM. Confirm the exact imported configuration with the intended operator; do not assume either “all physical SIM” or “all eSIM” from the family name.
Resolve registration, ownership and seller conditions separately
Use FBR’s duty information and its DIRBS guidance for the current official assessment and Payment Slip ID (PSID) route. The live embedded assessment was not retrievable during research. No storage-specific amount or approval has been inferred from the phone’s age or a third-party table.
- Match identity: compare the working device’s exact model and capacity with the advertisement; check identifiers privately through the appropriate official route.
- Complete handover: follow Apple’s Activation Lock guidance. The seller must release the device; previous-owner account prompts are unresolved until they do.
- Document condition: save declared repairs, faults, demonstrated functions and untested items rather than relying on a cosmetic grade.
- Agree terms: record price, included equipment and any checking or return arrangement supplied by that seller.
Questions about a used iPhone 14
Is the Pro always a better purchase than a 14 Plus?
No universal answer follows from the specification. Compare the features you need and the actual condition of both offers, including unresolved maintenance.
Does an older model automatically mean no registration cost?
Do not infer an exemption from age. Check current official status and any applicable assessment for the particular device.
Where can I find offers to compare?
Browse the mobile phone guide and PakDevices marketplace, then ask each seller for current availability and written conditions.
