Check before you buy

Choose a compatible RAM upgrade

01

Choose the right generation

DDR3, DDR4 and DDR5 are different standards. A matching capacity does not make them interchangeable. Check your device or motherboard specification first.

02

Match the module format

Most upgradeable laptops use SO-DIMM; most desktops use DIMM or UDIMM. Some thin laptops have soldered memory and no upgrade slot.

03

Check capacity and speed support

Confirm the maximum memory per slot, total supported capacity and supported speeds. A faster module may run at a lower supported speed; support is not guaranteed by speed alone.

04

Inspect used memory

Ask for the exact label and a memory-test result. Confirm whether the price is for one module or a matched kit and agree a checking warranty.
